Tucked away in Baltimore’s Hampden neighborhood is the incredibly enticing Dogwood Deli. The area is funky to say the least, but this restaurant just got a facelift, and seats more diners, more comfortably, and the bar area is open and relaxing for eating and drinking.
I started the meal with this incredible seafood soup. The little crayfish kinda creeped me out, but once I got the meat out, it was tasty.
My partner got this lamb rack, he said it was great, and he ate it all, but I thought it looked a bit heavy for my taste.
The best part about this restaurant, other than the food, is the employees are all a part of a recovery program. Having spent time in either a rehab program, or an incarceration facility. All of the food items are locally grown, caught, farmed, etc… somehow all this felt good and made the food taste even better. Oh yeah, the sangria was excellent!
