Smaller restaurants are closing finding the economic times too difficult to stay afloat

We at UofEating have only be at this blog thing for a few months. We have been posting about restaurants primarily in the Mid-Atlantic region, as it is what we know best. Already, in the short time we have been up and running, we have seen the demise of quite a few restaurants that we have mentioned here. This is very disturbing as we are losing a vital part of our culture when we lose the small mom and pop restaurant.

and PF Chang’s is being built as I write this. Once again, the “big box” survives and takes over the local home grown restaurant. We need to do a better job of supporting our locally owned dining establishments, or our choices will be fewer and fewer.
