If you want to kick it up a notch from the average college hangout in DC check out Late Night Shots. These guys have the hookup for all things around the DC area.  It’s been said that this site is so fun and relevant for the area 20 somethings, (and wannabes) that it is blocked by most employers.

The latest buzz, figuratively and literally is Four Loco.  It’s a fruity flavored alcohol and caffeine drink that can get you a great buzz.  It became quite controversial when a few students at Central Washington University became ill, and were hospitalized.  The company which manufactures the drink defended itself saying there were other substances involved which could have caused and or contributed to the effects experienced by these particular students.  However, certain schools have decided to ban the drink from campus.

So, who put out this list?  Apparently complex.com crowns itself the be all and know all of college drinking.  Satrting at #50 is The Tombs in Georgetown.  Nice bar, lots of memorabilia on the walls and lots of Georgetown folks, but not the quintessential Georgetown bar any longer.  Lots of places like Rhino and Thirds are making great inroads with the students jocks at Georgetown.

Restaurants: Crazy Names

Some restaurant names are quite obvious: 82 Queen is the address, S.N.O.B. stands for: slightly north of broad, etc…. BUT some of the names that owners give to their establishments are quite outrageous. Some will make you take note, and perhaps you will remember that restaurant, and that is a good thing. Some will turn you off and that is not a good thing. In our short time up and running, we feel the need to publish a list of the craziest restaurant names we have come upon so far:

OK guys, no one ever wants to be seen drinking “girly” drinks, right?  It is rule number 1. when out at a bar.  So what happens when all eyes are on you and a buddy pulls out his personal stash of Smirnoff Ice and yells out that you have been “Iced”  In order to save face and stay cool, rules require you to get down on one knee and chug that Smirnoff.  Of course the irony is that Smirnoff Ice is considered one of those girly drinks you would not be caught dead drinking in a crowd.
